This Class 8 truck is said to improve fuel efficiency by 3% over previous models and is built around the demands of the 2010 federal emission standards. Using an entirely new platform, the tractor will replace both the Columbia and the Century - along with all their versions.
Freightliner invested over $400 million to design the Cascadia along with 1 million engineering hours and 2,500 wind tunnel testing hours. First to produce the Cascadia for the die-cast collector’s market is Tonkin Replicas who are releasing this truck as a 1:53 scale Precision Series model. The model is filled with tons of detail worthy of a Precision Series release including a removable roof to reveal a detailed sleeper interior, opening hood exposing the highly detailed engine, multi-position front wheels, brake lines and a detailed under-carriage Brand New Tooling, this 1/53 scale Freightliner Cascadia made of full die cast metal tractor trailer has excellent detail to it.
